Given a full, softening malolactic fermentation, this is a very enjoyable drink-young style. The 2001 is fresh and lively, appley and peachy, with simple but pure Chardonnay aromas and flavours. The 2002 vintage is full and smooth, with good depth of grapefruit, apple and butterscotch flavours in a forward style offering lots of pleasure now.

The debut 1996 and subsequent vintages have ranked among the best unwooded Chardonnays on the market. Full of drink-young charm, the 1998 went through a softening malolactic fermentation to give it a round, creamy texture. It's a big wine (13.5 per cent alcohol) with fresh, direct fruit flavours of melons and peaches in a crisp, lively style with good depth.
