Kingsley Estate Gimblett Gravels Merlot Malbec

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Grown in four vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels district of Hawke's Bay and matured in French oak barriques (45 per cent new), the 2002 vintage is a blend of Merlot (67 per cent), Malbec (19 per cent), Cabernet Franc (7 per cent) and Cabernet Sauvignon (7 per cent). Complex and rich, it's a densely coloured wine with ripe-fruit characters, concentrated, plummy, spicy, slightly gamey flavours seasoned with quality oak and a good tannin backbone. Drink 2005+.
