Kinloch Wines Unwooded Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

What does boutique mean to you? Does it imply hand made, small, crafted with excellence and full of love? Well it does if you are Kinloch wines who make small amounts of artisan style wines in the Victorian high country. This unwooded Chardonnay is going to appease anyone who thinks the variety is too full of rich, oaky flavours. This wine is all about the fruit, showing pear and nectarine before a creamy palate that’s got subtle toasted nut characters before clean acids on the finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Hand crafted premium estate grown fruit which has resulted in a fresh, crisp wine. Subtle yeast characteristics blended with a hint of pear and nectarine; a soft and creamy mouth-feel and a tickling after palate sensation of nutty almond, make this a very interesting unoaked wine.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Quite aromatic stone fruit; light-bodied, fresh and crisp; balanced acidity; good example, developing slowly.
