Jeremy Oliver (2010 Vintage) says
A Very stylish young blend with Medoc-like composition and charm. If perhaps too minty to be mistaken for French! Its brightly lit, violet-like bouquet of cassis, mulberries, dark cherries and cedar/vanilla oak is backed by earthy nuances. Long, smooth and polished, with a pristine, minty presence of small dark berries, plums and fresh cedary oak, it's supported by fine dusty tannins, finishing with freshness and balance.

Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
Honest, slightly baked, but showing some very measured and smart winemaking. Its sweet, jammy and rather stewy bouquet of blackberries, prunes, plums and cedar/vanilla oak precedes a juicy, chocolatey palate whose initially smooth, confiture-like flavours become rather raisined and currant-like by the finish.

The majority of the fruit came off before the heatwave, resulting in a taut and upright style with great structure and considerable longevity. Dense blackberry and blackcurrant fruit provides varietal definition, supported by integrated French oak.

Attractive richness and vibrancy in this cabernet merlot blend - a wine that has scooped plenty of wine-show silverware. Dark berry fruits, cassis, blackberry, coffee, chocolate and earthy aromas. The palate knits flavour in with fine furry tannins, quite rich but neatly balanced. Has charming measure.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
A polished, balanced and complete Clare cabernet whose smoky, meaty aromas of briary blackberry, plum and cassis are backed by hints of mocha and mineral. It's smooth and sumptuous, with its genuine richness and power finely honed by a firm, fine-grained backbone, finishing with remarkable length and drive, focus and harmony. One of the surprises of this edition!

Strong crimson; has quite luscious berry fruit in a mix of red and black flavours framed by savoury tannins on the finish; medium- to full-bodied, with good varietal character.

Medium- to full-bodied; undeniably at the ripe end of the spectrum, but not dead fruit or jammy; a mix of blackcurrant and cassis, with soft tannins.

Supple and very ripe blackberry, plum and prune flavours, but avoids outright dead fruit characters; touches of chocolate and vanilla, finishing with soft tannins.

Powerful, savoury style; leathery/briary overtones to blackcurrant fruit.

Light, minty aromas of boiled lolly-like red berries, vanilla oak and menthol, plus a lighter palate of some fleshiness and texture whose forward berry fruits dry out a little towards the finish

Medium red-purple; clean, fresh red and dark berry aromas and subtle oak lead into a palate with balanced sweet blackberry and raspberry fruit and perfectly balanced tannins. Has excellent mouthfeel and harmony.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the bouquet is quite fragrant, with a mix of herbaceous and riper blackberry fruit. Interesting flavours unfold on the palate, running through mint, blackcurrant and mulberry, with a touch of almost saccharine-sweet oak.
