Knee Deep Cabernet Merlot

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The Knee Deep brand is named after a yacht that featured in the Sydney to Hobart, but you’ll encounter no rough waves with this wine. Just the smooth lapping of Cabernet as it ripples across the surface of the glass. This is a stylish blend of Cabernet and Merlot showing what the Margaret River does best. It’s soft and balanced with spicy, black fruits, some cedary oak and gentle tannins. Grab a lamb roast and reward yourself with this marvellous match.

Winemaker's Notes

A beautiful blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot with aromas of rich ripe berries, a hint of cinnamon and flavours of dark red plums and blackberries. Full fruit palate and soft tannins. Enjoy with barbecue meats in summer or with winter roasts, braised beef cheek and lamb.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Earthy/blackberry nose and soft, savoury palate - elegant and youthful. A keeper. 5+

Ripe and juicy fruity cabernet merlot blend. The nose is all saturated plum juice with a little prune-like complexity. The palate packs plenty of black currant and dark fruit cake. Strikes a good balance between the fruit. oak and tannin. It's made as a full and fruit medium term drinking wine with the ripe sweet fruit a feature. Excellent wine

Fruit driven blended red offering a cut above the standard fare. Has nice sweet fruit with a fine dry finish supported with a firm thread of tannin. Made as an earlier drinking wine but there is enough in here to support cellaring if you are seeking a subtle difference.
