James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Mid gold; a mixture of ripe melon, citrus blossom and fennel; there is richness on entry, with a tightening of texture as the palate progresses; long and full of grilled nuts to conclude.

Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
An unusual, very distinctive and heavily worked chardonnay with pungent oxidative influences. Its floral aromas of quince and melon reveal nuances of aldehyde and oatmeal, while its sweet, buttery palate is chewy and savoury. With a generous core of apple, melon and pear-like fruit, it gradually freshens in the glass, shedding some reductive complexity.

Highly aromatic; fresh, zippy fruit; little or no oak evident.
