James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Mid garnet; showing some development and savoury aromas of roasted game, leather, forest floor and herbaceous notes on the bouquet; medium-bodied and fleshy, with zesty acidity and a prominent mineral quartz-like texture lingering on the finish.

Well made; good colour, texture and structure; black cherry spice and bramble nuances to both bouquet and palate; shrugs off its alcohol.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Retains bright hue; clear varietal expression in both flavour and structure; spicy, foresty nuances dance around the red fruits in the centre of the palate; long finish.

Ken Gargett (2004 Vintage) says
Good pinot doesn't mind a bit of a nip in the air so it's right at home around Macedon. True, a portion of the fruit is grown elsewhere, but this is an exciting pinot wherever it might hail from. Up till now Lew Knight has focused on shiraz and his exceptional riesling, not pinot; but he's making up for lost time. Good pinot just flows across the palate like satin silk, and yes: the flow is here. Excellent value. Chase it.
