James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Pale quartz-green; the vines are now 40 years old, the wine in typical Granite Hills style, ultra-pure, refined and with strong minerality, its long-term future absolutely guaranteed.

Deep straw, green hue; an exotic amalgam of lemon juice, ginger, coriander and orange zest; the palate offers depth of fruit, with a tangy acidity that borders on challenging; plenty of flavour that comes at the price of elegance.

The bouquet shows an array of citrus, lemon rind and orange zest; the palate is intense and reveals a strong mineral streak at its core; has a long and precise finish.

Light green-straw; the power of 40-year-old vines, and the cold and windswept site, invest the wine with intensity and purity, although often needing some years in bottle to express its quality; the palate has a rare depth and richness of flavour, and its

A wine I've had the pleasure of seeing in the Macedon Ranges wine show with some age -this is a wine to enjoy both as a youngster and in years to come. The granite soils and older vines are driving the style; really fragrant and pure, with stony aromas and spicy, exotic fragrance. The palate is super-taut and has a steely resolve, lime juice flavour is starting to build and the finish has a green-tinged, spicy twist.

Light bright green-yellow; flowery apple and citrus aromas lead into a light but gloriously juicy palate, the finish long and cleansing.

A floral, flinty bouquet, then a tightly structured, fine palate; apple, citrus and mineral notes provide a seamless core of a wine with a 20-year life.

Anyone who thinks that great Aussie riesling begins and ends in the Clare Valley needs to have a serious rethink. Crawford River in south-west Victoria is one of our very best; so too these guys from near Kyneton. This is their thirtieth consecutive riesling vintage, and it is stunning. Limey, minerally and the merest whiff of the oily note the variety sometimes throws up. They age superbly and will match Clare s finest. Brilliant.

Delicate, fine, fresh, super-elegant; flowing lime juice and passionfruit; will grow in bottle over a decade.

Classic cool climate riesling with a musky perfume of lemon, lime and apple beneath alluring scents of rose petals. Long and crunchy, with a juicy, fleshy core of vibrant stonefruit, pear and apple flavours bound by crackly acidity. Wonderfully generous, tight and austere, before a long and powdery slate-like finish.

Glorious young riesling, intense and very long. Great combination citrus and acidity.

Light straw-green; ultra-pure apple blossom, apple skin and mineral aromas lead into a tight, crisp and delicate palate, finishing with minerally acidity. Is simply crying out for time in bottle, even without the benefit of a screwcap.

This incredibly intense riesling is one of the best-kept secrets in Australian winemaking. The winery is located up in the Macedon Ranges, a very chilly region only half an hour's drive from Melbourne airport. The winemaker Llew Knight is an unassuming bloke whose wines do all the talking, and do it eloquently. This fine, intense, focussed riesling is one for now or for up to a decade in the cellar. A wine that will surprise and delight youÑ and what more could you ask?

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; the aromas are crisp and clean, with delicate lime and toast; the palate has excellent length and intensity with lingering lime/citrus flavours. Will richly repay cellaring.
