Koltz The Pagan Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The literal meaning for the Pagan is a country dweller, and this fine Shiraz comes from some of the most beautiful countryside in South Australia. The Koltz Wines are classic interpretations of McLaren Vale, particularly this regional Shiraz that is cloaked in character. Order the biggest piece of steak you can find in the butcher with this wine in mind, as it’s full of bold, black fruits and spices as well as hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Structured and long, this is a wine for the long haul that will comfortable cellar for a decade.

Winemaker's Notes

Purple/opaque in colour.

The aroma is dominated by a super-fragrant Amarone-style perfume with notes of allspice, licorice, blackberry, and blueberry and tar.

Ultra intense, sweet, yet dry, this is a big, structured, lengthy wine which promises to please now but will evolve for a decade.
