James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Dense purple-crimson; the exceptional colour does not deceive; despite its very low yield, 1 tonne per acre, it is no more than medium-bodied, but the clarity of the black cherry and blackberry fruit, its fine-grained tannins, and integrated French oak are all seamlessly joined.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Simple rich fruit and new oak aromas with a hint of mint and nice mix of savory/spicy/mocha characters and the shiraz fruit flavours.
WINESTATE Volume 34 - Special Edition 2011
James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep garnet in colour, with a bouquet redolent of mulberry, eucalypt and licorice; the palate is warm and packed with gravelly tannins and toasty oak to conclude.
Australian Wine Companion 2013 2012
WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Spicy plum aromas with a menthol-like edge. Leaner, nicely textured palate that's developing well. A keeper. 5+
