Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
The 2009 vintage estate-grown, is aromatic and punchy, with strong, clearly herbaceous flavours of gooseberries and capsicums, fresh and crisp.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
In the past labelled Whalesback Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, this single-vineyard wine is grown by Geoff and Diane Smith and made by Simon Waghom at the Whitehaven winery. The 1999 vintage is fresh and zingy, brisk and limey, with plenty of vigour and good intensity. The 2000 has a fresh, intense bouquet leading into a full-bodied and zingy palate, bursting with gooseberry and capsicum flavours.
