Here's a bargain offering out of the Languedoc region of France that would go down great with seafood on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Made from a blend of sav blanc and chardonnay, it shows lots of citrus and gooseberries on the nose, backed-up by hints of stone fruits and melons. The palate is light, dry and zippy, with peachy and citrus flavours, brisk acidity, and a clean, crisp finish.
Appearance: Yellow with hints of lime, clear and bright.
Nose: The nose is of fresh honeydew melons with a touch of barley.
Palate: The palate has lovely fresh summer peaches sitting alongside zesty lemon and lime peel notes.
