La Belle Pierre Rouge
Cabernet franc has always played second fiddle to its seemingly more attractive and royal 'brother from another mother' cabernet sauvignon, but it seems to have got the rough end of the pineapple. There's plenty to like about cab franc, and if you are yet to dip your toe into the cab franc waters, this is a good place to start. Medium-bodied in style, there are lots of ripe plummy smells on the nose, along with roses, savouriness, and a touch of leafiness. The palate is quite elegant and smooth, with some nice slinky tannins, and some succulence to the finish. Excellent with cured or roasted red meats.
Red brick hue. A vibrant lifted nose of violets and plums. The silky palate offers a rich soft juicy compote of fruits with hints of mushroom and earth. Well balanced and well made. Enjoy lightly chilled. Enjoy lightly chilled as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to traditional French cuisine.
