Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
This is typically a rather Chardonnay-like Marlborough wine, mouthfilling and powerful, with some complexity, although its fruit characters can be subdued by oak and "malo" influences. Weighty and rounded, the 1998 vintage was 50 per cent fermented and lees-aged for eight months in barrels; the rest was handled in tanks. It's a satisfyingly big and flavoursome wine, with ripe tropical fruit characters and a creamy texture.
