Lambloch Estate Hunter Valley Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The one thing you can say about Hunter Shiraz is that it’s not showy or in your face. This is medium bodied Shiraz, built to last with an emphasis on savoury complexity. The other good thing about Hunter Shiraz is its ability to age, its acid profile ensures not only longevity but a suitability to be paired with food. Black fruits, earth and spice collide with some gentle oak and fine tannins to make an unforgettable Shiraz experience.

Winemaker's Notes

The Hunter Valley is renowned for its medium weight Shiraz of which this is a superb example picked before the rains that hit the 2009 vintage. It shows earthy, spicy, blackberry fruit complimented by subtle oak and fine-grained tannins. It is a wine that can be confidently cellared for 6 years.

Ample purple-crimson; the expressive bouquet of spicy black fruits leads into a light- to medium-bodied palate that has a lovely open mouthfeel and structure, and a long finish and aftertaste.
