Peter Forrestal (2007 Vintage) says
This is an improbable blend of verdelho, chardonnay, chenin blanc and semillon from one of the Swan Valley's top producers: it is well made, youthful, lively and with plenty of characters before a refreshing zesty finish.

Rich and full in the best Jack Mann style; these were the base blocks of Houghton White Burgundy, although there was no chardonnay until later in the piece; a great example of ripeness without high alcohol. Verdelho/Semillon/Chenin Blanc/Chardonnay.

The four varieties referred to in this popular Swan Valley favourite are verdelho, chardonnay, semillon and chenin blanc, and together they've produced a tangy, zesty, spicy, grassy white wine with good balance and freshness.

This is a real value for money wine blended from chenin blanc, verdelho, chardonnay and Semillon. Has a zesty tropical fruit aroma and a fine lingering palate structure. Nice acid lifts the finish. Great drinking over the summer.

Lamont is a small Swan Valley producer, owned by Corin, Kate and Fiona Lamont, which has made huge strides in the past five years and is now widely regarded as one of the top wineries in the region. None of its wines are expensive and all represent very good to great value for money, If you like this, try their fruity verdelho, which is a leap up in class for just a few dollars more. The 2002 Quartet is an unwooded blend of verdelho, chardonnay, chenin blanc and semillon that is soft and round with intense passionfruit and tropical fruit flavours and quite strong acidity on the finish. Ideal for a summer lunch. Available from cellar door:

The excellent Swan Valley producer, Lamont, produced one of the stars of last year's Quaff! with their 2000 Verdelho but as the price has crept up to $15 at the cellar door, we couldn't include it again. Fortunately, they've come up with this cracker to enliven your summer. It's an unlikely blend of chenin blanc, verdelho, chardonnay and semillon all of which can do well in the Swan nand has a cool, crisp, greenish edge with some intense green bean flavours and a lively, lingering passionfruit finish.
