James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
There is more of everything in this wine - red fruits, black fruits, toasty oak, mocha, tannins and even some florals, and yet the wine does not go too far, but remains in balance for its vintage and style.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Youthful hue; a wonderfully expressive wine showing true depth of Barossa character with red and black fruits entwined seamlessly, and complemented by an array of complex aromas of tar, chocolate and turned earth; the palate is dense and rich, but there is a lightness that belies the 15.5% alcohol; long, supple and seamless.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Full-bodied, but supple, round and plush, the sheer density of the black fruits from l00+-year-old vines submerging the alcohol and absorbing 60"/0 new French oak; soft velvety tannins. Diam please.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Very well-made; very precise and beautifully balanced gentle black fruits against a background of French and American oak; has great length. Vines over 100 years old.

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
A medium-bodied, luscious, sweet fruit style, certainly made from fully ripe grapes; carries the oak well (71% French/ 29% American), the alcohol less convincingly.
