James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; there is an uncommon depth to the wine, with a display of tropical on the bouquet and the mid-palate, before tightening up with a lingering minerally/savoury finish and aftertaste. Works very well.

Has an unusual aroma with fine french oak providing a vanilla honey blonde tobacco lift. The oak increases the front tip of tongue texture, mutes the salad green. Fruit finesse and the soft acid creates a more viscous langourous wine where most are briskly acidic and business like. The fruit finish arrives late, 20 - 30 seconds afer swallowing and the flavours are complex with a boiled sweets lift. Will age and be fascinating and complex.

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
Bright straw-green; although The Yard gets a Burgundy bottle, this has a high-shouldered, dark green, Claret bottle, and the flavours are more towards the tropical end, although more finely structured and focused than The Yard, with a touch of ripe citrus, and great overall intensity and length.

Tyson Stelzer (2011 Vintage) says
Finely-woven layers of hazelnut cream, coffee, preserved lemon, grapefruit zest, golden delicious apples, guava and almost ripe passionfruit. Yet for such a maelstrom of complexity, it finishes finely poised and mineral.

Gorgeous composition and seamless integration of finely-woven layers of hazelnut cream, coffee, preserved lemon, grapefruit zest, golden delicious apples, guava and almost ripe passionfruit. For such a maelstrom of complexity, it pulls into a tight finish of finely poised minerality and pristine line and persistence. Wow.

Seriously complex floral passionfruit herbaceous and subtle fresh cut tobacco spice. Concentrated fruit yet soft entry guided by excellent acidity which keeps the palate lifting and zingy towards the finish with green pea and passionfruit lasting minutes.

Jeremy Oliver (2011 Vintage) says
A Smooth and rather polished oak-matured sauvignon whose bright, floral perfume of gooseberries, lychees, mineral and spice is underpinned by a smoky whiff of cooperage. Smooth and seamless, it slips easily down the palate with a faint oiliness but with pleasing richness and weight of fruit.

Nick Stock (2010 Vintage) says
Larry Cherubino takes sauvignon blanc to new heights here, restraining the inherent overtness of the variety in the name of terroir and complexity. Fermented in 100% new oak, there's a layer of gently creamy spice across nettly herbal notes and fine green-tinged citrus, and the barest hints of tropical fruits. The palate layers up in discreet waves, peeling away and trailing long in wake-like formation. The finish sparkles with precise acid crunch. It's rare that sauvignon delivers this much excitement.

Rob Geddes MW (2010 Vintage) says
Serious complex floral passionfruit herbaceous mint (minted peas with a tropical edge). Pemberton concentrated fruit yet soft entry guided by excellent acidity which keeps the palate lifting and zingy towards the finish with green pea and slight passionfruit lasting a minute after spitting flavour.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
A slightly riper and certainly a more complex take on the sauvignon theme, this has seen some time in wood and has a more harmonious, slightly understated fruit nose, stone fruits, lime juice and leafy nuances, with gentle tropical notes. The palate is smooth and even, sustained upon fine, linear acidity, stony, flinty flavours and bright, fine tropical fruit through the finish.
