James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Very deep colour; ripe redcurrant and blackberry fruit coexist with a myriad spices and plenty of well-handled toasty oak; the palate shows light and shade with great definition of fruit, then raw power and abundant, slippery tannins come to the fore; long, vibrant, juicy and completely engaging.

Nick Stock (2006 Vintage) says
My pick of the two top-end Clare Shiraz wines from Leasingham (Schobers Vineyard being the other). This has a comforting nose of sweetly spiced dark plum fruit, a little meaty twist, and a fine grind of black pepper - smells very complete and resolved. The palate is superbly shaped and crafted, tannins are fine from start to finish and the flavours of dark chocolate plum liqueurs are irresistible. Superb balance.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
A super-saturated wine from go to whoa, the difference from Classic Clare primarily in the fine quality tannins, which provide immaculate texture and structure to the cavalcade of black fruits.
