Jeremy Oliver (2012 Vintage) says
Long and elegant, with a punchy herbal bouquet of gooseberries and melon backed by a dusty, mineral hint of bathpowder. It?s luscious and forward, round and generous, with a long, lingering core of fresh gooseberry and lychee flavor extending above a fine powdery texture towards a tightly focused finish of vibrant acidity.

This sports some subtle winemaking complexity, adding gentle grilled nuts and grapefruit citrus to cool tropical fruits, lemon and grassy notes. The palate s brimming with tangy acid crunch and has terrific structure that holds these citrusy flavours fresh and lively.

Perhaps a little shy and edgy, with a dusty, nutty bouquet of gooseberries, lychees and honeydew melon that reveals a whiff of passionfruit and a hint of nettle. Smooth and restrained, with a gentle palate of cassis, gooseberries and melon backed by creamy, nutty nuances, it finishes tight and lean, but perhaps lacking its customary brightness.

Outstanding example of the style IT gets about 30 per cent barrel fermentation and you can pick it up with the lovely texture and mot feel. Beautifully controlled palate with light herbaceousness and some fresh gooseberry influence. Fine with a lip smacking finish powered by that racy acid. Beautiful wine now or with a few years in the cellar.

Quartz-white; clean and vibrant, with a balanced array of grass and pea pod characters on the one hand, and tropical passionfruit on the other, the latter the most telling. Finishes with elan.

Powerful and punchy, with an intense, lightly herbaceous bouquet of passionfruit and lychees backed by a restrained bath powdery note. It's succulent and mouthfilling, bursting with deep gooseberry, lychee and passionfruit flavour that is wound back by a fresh acidity, an underlying chalkiness and a faintly mineral finish.

Pale straw-green; is an exceptionally fine and elegant rendition of sauvignon blanc, falling largely on the nettle, herb and snow pea side, but also capturing a delicate waft of passionfruit and stone fruit; perfectly balanced acidity.

The quality of Leeuwin's Sauvignon Blancs over the year has been as consistent as the Chardonnays. Lovely herbal and slightly herbaceous characters with a racy acid and citrusy zip to the palate. This one is typically delicate but very long.Ê

A citrusy dry white with length, texture and savoury qualities. Not hugely varietal but with a sumptuous, creamy and citrusy palate of slightly candied lemony fruit, its albarino-like weight of fruit finishes long and tangy, with a slightly meaty aspect.

Vibrantly pure, fresh and crisp; a wine built upon the purity and energy of the palate, causing plenty of lip smacking after tasting. One-third fermented in older French oak barriques and aged on lees for three months; 7% Semillon.

This impresses with its gentle charming tropical fruit aromas, really restrained and elegant, gently fragrant. The palate has the same bright elegance: starts out really fine and then gathers chirpy tropical flavours towards the finish; terrific build. A class act.

Fresh and focused, with pungent aromas of lychees and gooseberries with grassy, almost sweaty undertones. Round and juicy, it's long and tangy, becoming more lean, taut and mineral towards its finish of concentrated citrusy fruit and refreshing, tingling acidity.

Tyson Stelzer (2007 Vintage) says
Over the past five years we have watched in wonder as LEASCS grew up from a scruffy schoolboy of clunky oak, assertive tannins and haphazard ripeness into a perfectly articulate young man. Little did anyone expect that in 2007 he would transform into a prince. This is the wine that will put Art Series Cabernet on the map for the first time. Harvested early to capture definition, it rings with every hallmark of Margaret River cabernet that would be expected from more famous labels, with a core of ripe blackcurrant fruit and firmly poised tannins.

Punchy aromas of gooseberries, passionfruit and melon with lightly herbaceous and lemony undertones precede a juicy unctuous palate whose brightly lit fruit has a lifted tropical aspect. Long, clean and refreshing, it's a classic example of this maker's style.

Clean, delicate passionfruit-accented fruit; finely structured and balanced.

Bright, light green; a spotlessly fresh and clean bouquet has grass, mineral and faintly tropical aromas; the classic tightly focused palate provides more of the same, running through to a long finish.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Very light straw-green; the aromatic bouquet is distinctly herbal/grassy, the brisk and lively palate following suit with lemony grassy flavours. Quite different from the 2000.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Light green-yellow; a crisp and pleasantly lifted bouquet of herb, asparagus and mineral is a promising start, and the palate is crisp and lively, with similar flavours, limited only by slightly congested acidity on the finish.
