Cracka Review

Canberra would not be our first choice when sourcing Premium Pinot but this one stopped us in our tracks and made us take note. Firstly it has a degree of Pinosity, that elusive varietal character we search for in this style, secondly it has innate drinkability, so jump on this wine, as it’s a winner. All the fragrance you look for in Pinot with a light berry perfume, sappy game notes and plenty of soft tannins.

Winemaker's Notes

This wine is made from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from our vineyard at Lake George. The wine was matured in French oak barriques for 11 months prior to bottling. It shows cherry, red current, allspice, vanilla and gamey aromas. The red fruit on the palate is supported by savoury overtones and fine, well integrated tannins. This wine will continue to develop over the next 3-5 years.

Bright colour; black cherry, plum and a touch of ironstone; firm and dry, with the cherry fruit providing definition to the palate; quite a savoury and muscular wine.

Red fruits and tobacco leaf on the nose, leading to a palate exhibiting soft, subtly sweet flavours.

Plenty of depth to the colour; complex dark plum, spice and bramble flavours; ripe, but not to the point of dry red; great texture.
