It would be an odd site to see a heap of lobsters in a paddock, and what would you call a lobster collective? Perhaps a mobster of lobsters? However, sav blanc from Marlborough is not an odd sight, and this one shows aromas of atypical passionfruits, along with gooseberries and lemons. The palate is light-bodied and fruity with tropical and citrus flavours, and a frisky, crisp, refreshing finish.

Winemaker's Notes

The Lobster Paddock Vineyards lay in Marlborough, New Zealand, at the northern end of our country’s Southern Island. Situated in an alluvial valley they are the antipodean home of Sauvignon Blanc. Herein our vineyards are protected from fierce, prevailing ocean weather. However rugged, Marlborough’s pristine maritime climate and geography, combined with Lobster Paddock’s mature vineyards, guarantee an ideal environment for high quality Sauvignon Blanc. Our well-weathered and free-draining river gravel soils had their nutrients rinsed away eons ago, but all this ensures our vines produce intensely aromatic, vibrantly fruited, and freshingly crisp wines that are Lobster Paddock’s hallmark.

Ripe passion fruit and blackcurrant aromas dominate a core of yellow fruit characters. These key aromas follow through to taste; all framed by fresh juicy acidity.
