Lombardi Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
This small Hawke's Bay winery makes a satisfying Sauvignon Blanc with lots of personality. Estate-grown at Havelock North, the pale 1999 vintage is weighty, with strong creamy oak and lees-stir influences coupled with ripe fruit characters. Deliciously fresh and zippy, with an astutely judged fruit/oak balance, it's a distinctive and stylish wine, concentrated and lingering.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
This small Hawke's Bay winery makes a satisfying Sauvignon Blanc. The 1997 vintage is a highly attractive mouthful, with rich, ripe stone fruit flavours, wood-derived complexity, good body and length. The 1998 was half tank-fermented; the rest was fermented in new French oak casks. Pale lemon/green, it's a fresh, limey wine with good weight and depth of crisp, slightly nutty and creamy flavour. It's still coming together; open 2000+.
