It seems sad that there is a Lonely Vineyard, makes it sound neglected. But nothing could be further from the truth in respect to this Eden Valley producer. Winemaker Michael Scheurers honed his craft at Seppelt and nearby Henschke so he knows how to craft Shiraz of distinction. This is lifted with a red fruit perfume and lots of peppery spice making for a polished and layered wine that would go well with beef.
The Stone Hut Vineyard Shiraz displays lifted cool climate Shiraz aromas of blackberries, violets, tar and dark chocolate. The palate is dense and concentrated, with brambly fruit and velvety texture. Tannins are well poised and contribute strength and structure. It is a benchmark Eden Valley Shiraz that will cellar well for many years.
