Wine Companion (2010 Vintage) says
Deep crimson and bright in colour, the bouquet is redolent of dark cheery, roasted game, spicy oak and wild thyme; the palate is juicy and direct on entry, fragrant and linear, with nervous acidity playing a suitable foil to the layered dark fruits on offer; ready to go, but with time aplenty ahead.

Nick Stock (2009 Vintage) says
Along with a deep cherry-red colour - really bright - this has impressively fitted oak adding toasty cedary complexity across the top and a nice, dark toasted spice layer, a little game - young and brash-looking wine. The palate's sturdy, with plenty of tannin and a slice of musky spice draped throughout; there's handy shape and length too. Like the structure.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Full-flavoured, firmly structured red from Lowburn, in the Cromwell Basin. Deeply coloured, with rich, ripe, cherryish fruit characters and a spicy, savoury complexity.

WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Nice earthy/boiled lolly-like aromas, followed by a big, fat, sweet, stewed fruit palate with obvious acidity. 3-5
