Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Straightforward light-red fruits on the nose here; this has a licorice spice thread too, bright and attractive. The palate s built on chirpy acidity that really adds crunchy texture to bright, midweight, cherry-flavoured fruit.

From the Denton Vineyard, this has a mellow and pristine red-fruit nose: very pretty strawberry fruits here, musky perfume, lifted, subtle oak spice and a sappy edge. The palate's really fleshy and composed, with milk chocolate and creamy spices; tannins are well formed and carry impressive shape.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Clear, bright, red-purple; it has a spicy, perfumed bouquet but the fruit profile is significantly diminished; instead, it has a finer, almost mineralic structure, with spice and briar to the fore. The minimalist approach in the winery (no cold soak, no whole bunches) inevitably means these wines are light-bodied, low alcohol amplifying the style. An east-facing, close-planted block with shallow clay /loam over a granitic base.
