MadFish Riesling

Cracka Review

The wine is bright pale straw in colour with green hues. The nose is wonderfully aromatic showing lime skin and white citrus flower notes. The palate has an upfront burst of citrus juice and flowers leading to a tight and crisp mid-palate of great focus. A linear and long dry finish is complemented by a restrained floral character.

Ray Jordan (2008 Vintage) says
Another stunning wine under this label and one of the best value-for-money wines for such a top-notch riesling. Beautifully fragrant and fresh with traces of lemon and lime, the palate is a wonderfully fine delicate acid. Very long satisfying refreshing mouth feel.

Has the usual verve and crisp focus of MadFish, with a framework of minerally acidity; however, lacks mid-palate fruit for higher points

A consistent winning label. Since being introduced a few years ago, here is yet another feather in the cap. Tight, lean yet intensely flavoured with a sustained penetrating acid. Love the little twist of lemon on the finish.

Pale straw; clean, crisp and fresh; delicate citrus and passionfruit flavours, finishing with lemony acidity.

Has been a tremendously consistent wine that punches well above its weight. This is another beauty with the limey mineral aromas and intense tight palate. Super riesling.

When I was a kid one of my favourite places was in the back corner of our garden in the suburbs of Adelaide, half way up a huge, ancient white peach tree. Fully ripe, the peaches were like baseballs, big enough for me to sink my face into and have the juicy nectar run down my chin. MadFish?s juicy white peach Riesling flashed me straight back to my summer perch in the tree all those decades ago.A lifted airy peach blossom bouquet with fresh apples and pears introduces a fresh peach and nectarine palate which surges into a long finish of lemon juice acidity. For a fresh, softly structured riesling to drink young, this mad thing is on a perch of its own.A very good wine.

Intense lime, herb and apple aromas; delicate yet intense; spotlessly clean; long and impeccably balanced citrussy fruit. Three trophies Western Australian Wine Show 2004, including Best White of Show.
