Magpie Estate The Gomersal Grenache

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Good purple-red hue; has a mix of spicy/savoury aromas and flavours set among the red berry fruits and well-balanced tannins; quality French oak and a dash of shiraz also contribute. At the upper quality end of Barossa Valley grenache, with little or no confection characters.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Deeper, more purple hue than The Fakir, despite an extra year in bottle; the excellent vintage, and the addition of a small amount of shiraz, has given the wine stature and texture akin to that of the best McLaren Vale grenache; delicious red and black fruits, spice and fine, persistent tannins are the mark of a very good grenache.
