Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
The 2008 vintage was hand-picked at a relatively warm site at Rapaura, fermented with indigenous yeasts, barrel-aged for 15 months, and bottled unfiltered. Deeply coloured, it is slightly less rich than the highly concentrated 2007, but shows good complexity and texture, with mouthfilling body and strong, ripe cherry/plum flavours, smooth and savoury.

Michael Cooper (2007 Vintage) says
The delicious 2007 vintage was hand-harvested at a relatively warm site at Rapaura, fermented with indigenous yeasts, barrel-aged for 15 months, and bottled unfiltered. The bouquet is fragrant, with very ripe cherry, spice and liquorice aromas; the palate is mouthfilling (14 per cent alcohol), rich and rounded. Bursting with ripe-fruit flavours, it's a robust wine, savoury and silky smooth, with drink-young appeal, but also the power to age.
