Cracka Review

If you’ve not had the pleasure of a proper Chateauneuf du Pape before then prepare yourself for some vinous excitement. It’s the blend that has given the southern Rhône such a reputation and can have up to 13 varieties combined in the end product. This shows a purity of black fruits with some sandy, fine-grained tannins, a sense of freshness and textured minerals before an impressively long finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Quite ripe cherry on the nose, with a sense of freshness…Fine and elegant matter. Beautiful balance. – Michel Tardieu

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
The Tardieu-Laurent labels all look pretty much the same, so it pays to read the labels carefully - although the price usually tells you which one you're looking at. A dynamite wine that's great to drink now or later. Tastes of cherry essence, leather, herbs and minerals. Full-bodied with very pure fruit, minimal alcohol heat, freshness, light sandy tannins and excellent length. The 2007 vintage really has produced some terrific wines in France's Rhone Valley.
