Majella Melody Rose

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2012 Vintage) says
Full, bright, clear red; red fruits surge from the bouquet, and on entry to the palate; thereafter it tones its message down, no bad thing, and ends pleasantly dry.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
Tyson Stelzer (2011 Vintage) says
Melody hit the bottle just a day before I found her prancing around the tasting room at Majella. Her pretty rose petal and youthful strawberry, cherry and redcurrant fruits are at their flirtatious peak right now so don’t hold back until summer before ripping her top off.
Wine Taste - Edition 22 2011
WINESTATE (2011 Vintage) says
Pleasant, clean, floral fragrances and a soft, simple palate. Drinking well now.
WINESTATE Volume 34 (2011) 2011
Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Light-red in the glass, the Melody is a fragrant rose with red florals, raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant fruit aromas on the nose. The palate has a little stone-fruit flavour in the red-fruit mix; gently sweet but not cloying, it will handle plenty of chill through summer.

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Pretty wine - not overly sweet and with some nicely balanced rhubarb and capsicum-like aromas and flavours.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Strongly herbal/leafy nuances; plenty of character in an offbeat style.

Matthew Jukes & Tyson Stelzer (2008 Vintage) says
Melody is the diametric opposite of Prof Lynn – delightful, clean, refreshing and light. This is an elegant, gentle rosé with pretty red fruits and it’s as well made as anything from this great estate. Despite its delicate style it’s the definitive wine for any pink crustacea and it will happily handle some chilli on the top.
Taste Food and Wine Guide 2009
WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Fragrant, lifted raspberry aromas and a pretty, juicy red fruit palate - not too sweet and with a nice crunchy finish. $16
