Man O' War Waiheke Island Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
A distinctive wine, worth discovering. Grown at the eastern end of the island, the 2008 vintage was mostly handled in tanks, but 10 per cent was fermented and matured in seasoned French oak barriques. It's a refreshingly crisp wine, fresh and vibrant, with high acidity and very good depth of ripe tropical-fruit flavours.

Michael Cooper (2006 Vintage) says
Grown at the eastern end of the island, the 2006 vintage was mostly handled in tanks, but 20 per cent was barrel-fermented. It's a distinctly North Island style, fleshy and rounded, with ripe tropical-fruit flavours, a subtle seasoning of oak and moderate acidity. Fresh and lively, with good balance and richness, it's much more enjoyable than its higher-priced stablemate (above).
