Mandala Butterfly Cabernet Sauvignon

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Here's another lovely wine from the 2010 vintage in Victoria. It's typically cab sav on the nose with aromas of cassis, tobacco leaf and a hint of mint, whilst the palate is medium to full-bodied, with blackcurrant and sweet spice flavours, a lick of chocolate, fine-grained tannins, and a smooth, juicy finish. It will cellar for a another couple of years, or would be great with the family roast beef on Sunday.

Mandala Butterfly Cabernet Sauvignon

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
Full purple-red; an altogether serious Cabernet Sauvignon filled to the brim with blackcurrant fruit, bound into a long palate by persistent tannins, which, while imposing, are not dry. This is bound to repay cellaring.

Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
The best cabernet of the vintage from Mandala in Dixons Creek, this shows some dark chocolate, wild dark herbs and gentle minty complexity, with mulberry, cassis and ripe cherry fruits. The palate delivers nicely poised cassis and berry cola flavours, some blue fruits, sweetly-spiced oak threaded throughout and an even spread of fine, ripe tannins. Nice balance to boot.
