From Steve Bird, the 2009 vintage was hand-picked on the south side of the Wairau Valley, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and barrel-aged for 10 months. Ruby-hued, floral and supple, with vibrant cherry/plum flavours, hints of herbs and spices, and a light oak seasoning, it's a drink-young charmer.
