James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Bright, glowing straw-green; an elegant Semillon now on the journey to its ultimate destination, the first signs of honey and beeswax appearing, toast around the corner, lemony acidity a constant.
Australian Wine Companion 2014 Edition 2013
Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
Excellent Hunter semillon, still with many years to travel, with a fresh but charmingly toasty and oily bouquet of honeydew melon, lemon and waxy complexity backed by nuances of lemon oil and smokiness. It's long and even, with an unctuous, fleshy depth of fruit with smoky, mineral undertones, a lingering lick of wet slate and a vivacious finishes of lemony acids.

The colour is still remarkably pale, the bouquet with subtle beeswax and lanolin before the palate takes total control of proceedings with the citrus flavours running from the tip of the tongue through to the finish and aftertaste. Great wine.

Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
Now sporting some toasty, waxy development and a smoky, buttery bouquet of melon, lemon rind and nutty, almost oily complexity, this assertive, moderately rich semillon will become more assertive with time. Medium in weight, it's long and seamless, with a powerful expression of toasty melon/citrus fruit and creamy, buttery nuances supported by a fine chalkiness, finishing long and savoury. True to type and region.

Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
A delightfully complex and textured semillon that's perhaps a fraction brassy but reveals a very mature, toasty and buttery bouquet whose ripe, juicy lemon/marmalade notes reveal smoky and toasty development. Underpinned by a fine lemon sherbet-like texture, it's forward and juicy, but evolved sufficiently to finish with assertive nutty, waxy and savoury aspects.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
Glowing green-gold; has developed exactly as it should over the first five years of its life, with utterly seductive honey and lemon cake nuances backed by precise acidity. Will go on from here.

Tyson Stelzer (2005 Vintage) says
Primary lemon butter, green peas and peach meet the aged complexity of toasty lanolin and honey. Attractively balanced, with mid-palate richness and lingering minerality. Tiny volume; please form an orderly queue.
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
A strikingly packaged wine appropriate to its quality; '05 was a great semillon vintage, with a special quality to its texture and structure as well as flavour, richly attested to by this superb wine. Drink now or in another decade.
Australian Wine Companion 2012 2011
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Bright yellow-green; a great demonstration of the ability of semillon to mature with grace under screwcap; the lemongrass and mineral flavours are underpinned by perfect acidity, the wine still with years to go.
