Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Verdelho is the wine tourism 'cash cow' for Hunter Valley cellar doors, and it's no wonder when they slip down as easy as this one. There's plenty of tropical fruit salad smells on the nose, together with a touch of baked bread. The palate is medium-bodied and slightly sweet, with fleshy fruit flavours, lemony acidity, and quite a lush finish. It's made for your immediate drinking pleasure, so give it a slight chill and enjoy before dinner.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2013 Verdelho is pale straw in colour displaying an aromatic fruit salad bouquet of pineapple, melon, mandarin and stone fruit with hints of spice and plenty of underlying citrus. The palate is balanced beautifully between lively citrus fruits and the riper broader tropical notes. The clean, bright acidity ensures a long crisp finish. Enjoy this wine young and fresh.

Green and red Apples add to the subtle custard apple of the variety in this edition. Smooth even midweight and textural palate with a grippy apple edged finish.

A zesty, lively Verdelho from old, low-yielding vines, this is a wine of lemon and pink grapefruit flavours and hints of guava and tropical fruits. Attractive minerality and a zesty structure align it well for lunchtime quaffing.

A generous smoky style, with an exuberant personality; dried straw comes through on the palate, with a zesty citrus finish.

Light to medium yellow-green; the moderately intense bouquet is clean, with fruit salad aromas, swelling somewhat on the palate with a range of fruit salad, nectarine and citrus fruit; good balance.
