Matahiwi Pinot Gris

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2011 Vintage) says
Hailing from the Wairarapa, the Matahiwi Estate pinot gris shows a light-golden hue with rich, ripe poached pear, citrus and stone-fruits, and hints of lemon oil, tea cake, spice, grilled nuts and fairly assertive oak. Rich on the palate, but the oak dominates a little.

WINESTATE (2010 Vintage) says
Sold only in Australia, this is a partly barrel-fermented style, estate-grown at Opaki, in the northern Wairarapa. Floral and full-bodied, with fresh, pure varietal characters of pears, lychees and spices, a touch of complexity and very good depth.
