WINESTATE (2005 Vintage) says
Nose oozes caramel and butterscotch. Palate quite advanced and developed but with nice underlying fruit.

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Maturing well, the debut 1997 vintage is a blend of Hawke's Bay (Gimblett Road) and 15 per cent Wairarapa fruit, fermented in French oak barriques (60 per cent new). Still very fresh and lively, it's a vibrant wine with citrusy fruit characters, balanced toasty oak and excellent flavour depth in a moderately complex style with good acid spine. The 1998 was grown entirely in Hawke's Bay. Fragrant and nutty on the nose, it is mouthfilling and rich, with soft grapefruit, melon and fig flavours, plenty of mealy, grainy complexity and a rounded, long finish.

James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium yellow-green; melon, peach and fig fruit aromas on the bouquet, move more to melon and cashew on the palate. Light to medium weight; good length and balance.
