Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
The disappointing 2002 vintage grown in the Gimblett Gravels district of Hawke's Bay, was harvested at 24. 5 to 25 brix, and matured in French oak barriques (73 per cent new). It offers simple plum and spice flavours that lack real complexity and richness.

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The 2000 vintage was grown in the siltiest, coolest soils in the company's Gimblett Road vineyard and French oak-aged for 15 months. A sturdy, oaky wine with sweet fruit characters, strong plum/spice flavours and powerful tannins, it shows good varietal character and is one of the finest Hawke's Bay Pinot Noirs yet.
