Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Bottled in mid-2002 after the exceptionally long period of three years in oak, the 1999 vintage of this Gisborne red has lost its fruit characters and is dull and tired.

Michael Cooper (1992 Vintage) says
Based predominantly on die powerful Pommard clone of Pinot Noir, this is typically a deeply coloured Gisborne wine with a concentrated, spicy/chocolatey flavour. The 1990 vintage is a beauty, with exceptional richness. The '92 is a big, mellow, complex, slightly rustic wine with light, mature colour and a rich, meaty, spicy, smoky fragrance. Cherryish, oaky and very soft, it's an intensely varietal wine. Ready.
