Matua Valley Innovator Anniversary Sauvignon Blanc

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
A "oncer", the 1999 vintage celebrates the passage of 25 years since the first (1974) Matua Valley Sauvignon Blanc. Based on Auckland, Hawke's Bay and Marlborough fruit, it was largely handled in tanks, but 10-15 per cent of the final blend was barrel-fermented and given a softening malolactic fermentation. It's a non-aggressive wine, weighty, with lots of ripe, limey flavour, a touch of complexity and a rich finish. "I could drink a lot of this," I noted during the tasting.
