Maven Marlborough Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

'The fundamental principle of winemaking for this Pinot Noir is gentle fruit handling' (A quote from the Maven winemakers). Sounds nice doesn't it? Makes you think about velvet gloves and grapes on pillows (or maybe that is just us). Anyways, the net result is a positively juicy Pinot Noir, one with lovely sappy fruit and plenty of flesh (in the quite classic Marlborough mould).

Winemaker's Notes

Deep ruby in colour, this premium exhibits rich spicy and savoury aromas with subtle toasty notes from French barrique maturation balanced with dark cherry fruit and soft ripe tannins.

Maven Marlborough Pinot Noir

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2008 Vintage) says
The 2008 vintage was grown at Rapaura and in the Wairau's southern valleys. Lightish in colour, with a hint of development, it's an easy-drinking style with solid depth of cherry and spice flavours and gentle tannins. Ready.
