Maximus Adelaide Hills Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This chardy-nus Maximus offering certainly has a bold personality. Ripe green orchard fruits adorn the nose, together with hints of lemon zest and baked bread. The palate is dry and medium-bodied with restrained oak usage, more appley and bready flavours, friendly acidity, and a dry, savoury-edged finish. It's a dead set food wine that would go well with poultry dishes.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Pithy dried fruits, pear, apple etc. Chinese gooseberry.

Nose: Pear, dried apple, pith, brioche and shortbread.

Palate: This is an elegant , stylish Chardonnay with precise poise and distinction. And a bone dry, stimulating gastronomic statement it is: stony and austere, designed from the ground up to set the gustatories a-gush with the anticipation of food. It is a wine of place, authoritative and savoury but composed. It has great cellaring potential.

Bright green-straw; an elegant wine, partial barrel ferment and mlf adding texture and complexity, but not diminishing the fresh grapefruit and white peach contribution of the fruit.
