Maximus Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Looks like Maximus did very well with their white wines at the Australian Small Winemakers Show last year. Here we have another one that was awarded some gold bling, and it is certainly an interesting style of savvy. It's a real apples and pears wine that has a twist of spice and a touch of toast. The palate is dry and bright with pear and lemon zest flavours, a rounded mouthfeel, and a dry, chalky finish. It's made for food!

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Ginger root, Star fruit and Crab apple.

Nose: Bartlett pear, Crab apple, Lemon pith with an aftertaste of pear.

Palate: The texture is sinuous, dry and grainy. It has excellent mouth-feel, being just slightly unctuous, and the tiniest shot of good French oak binds the finish neatly, drawing the salivaries in anticipation of salt and pepper squid.
