It's fair to say that this tempranillo is no shrinking violet. It's as big as a Roman legion, and just as bold with its dark, spicy fruits and savouriness on the nose, complimented by a ripe, plushly fruited palate, mellow tannins, and a juicy, fruity finish. It's a cuddly 15.6% alcohol, so some BBQ meats would be awesome with this.

Winemaker's Notes

Gentle winemaking regime as for the Shiraz. After ferment the wine was kept in contact with skins for four weeks to add complexity. It was then racked to old American oak hogsheads where it was aged for 16 months. The wine shows different characters, with lifted red fruit notes that are delicate and attractive, followed by underlying hints of dark fruit providing density and earthy characters. The richness and intensity of the fruit makes this wine a serious contender for developing complex characters with age.
