Maxwell Four Roads Shiraz Crenache Viognier

Expert Reviews

Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2007 Vintage) says
You would normally see this blend with mourvedre/ mataro, but the canny folks at Maxwell have used the white grape, viognier. No wonder it feels so soft in your mouth. All the earthiness you'd expect of a wine like this except that it's extra satiny in its texture. Huge amount of spice and then blueberry and raspberry-like flavour. Nice melt of tannin through the finish. It's a winery wine, which probably doesn't make sense, but it does to us. Very good.
