Ray Jordan (2011 Vintage) says
A classy statement of this style from Margaret River. A gentle cedary influences wafts through the black currant and fruit cake characters on the nose. On the palate the firmish tannins hold things together perfectly giving great structure and length. A superb example of the style that punches well above its weight.

Ripe cassis, black cherries, plums, roasting herbs and tasty oak all lined up nicely. Built on knockabout tannins that carry dark berry flavour. Balanced, brash ad approachable.

His is developing into a benchmark for the cab merlot blend at this price point. In fact it clearly punches well above its weight. A very good year and a very good wine is the result. Controlled, fruit driven with excellent oak at just the right weight.

A precise and fragrant blend that offers some wonderful drinking. Bouquet of red berry, dark plum and minty fruit cake. The palate is seamless, finely textured and sublimely silky. It's medium bodied but there is stacks of intense and quite powerful fruit. A classy wine of substance.

We've only just started hooking into the 2007 reds from Margaret River, and so far we love what we've tried. The 'Hohnen' in the name is David Hohnen - the man who started Cape Mentelle and, cor blimey, New Zealand's Cloudy Bay Winery. Yep, this is a good 'un. It tastes of bitter dark chocolate and blackcurrant, cedarwood and eucalypt, the lot delivered on a super-smooth train. It's bursting with dark-fruit flavour and finishes with a satisfying, warm, briary, bitter edge. Bonza!
