Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2011 Vintage) says
A 54/36/10% blend matured in French oak, bottled Jul '13. The cool, wet vintage has been a glass half- full event, helped by good viticulture and winemaking; the cassis fruits are ripe, but not overblown, and the medium-bodied palate has good length.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Relatively light (although bright) colour, particularly given the petit verdot component; an altogether unlikely blend for McLaren Vale, full of juicy red and black fruits; a great achievement for ’08, with no warmth on the finish.

Brisk notes of forest, olive and earth surround the black fruits; fine tannins; not an easy wine to come to terms with.

Lovely cabernet nose of herbs and cherries. Full, flavoursome palate showing lovely texture and sweetness.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Cedary, savoury, briary aromas, the palate unexpectedly smooth and supple; delicious cassis and blackcurrant fruit, with markedly soft, fine tannins.
