McWilliam's Margaret River Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Fine, elegant but quite intense; typical regional stone fruit and a touch of citrus; subtle oak.

Ken Gargett (2002 Vintage) says
This wine is like one of the cheap (depending what you call cheap) BMWs. Margaret River chardonnay is a style normally reserved for people who drive those spunky little Z4 roadsters and dine out at fancy restaurants. But here's the McWilliam's treatment: find some excellent fruit from a great region, make a sympathetic and delicious wine and then sell it for about half what it would cost if it came from someone trendy. You see why people like McWilliam's are important?
Don't Buy Wine Without Me 2004 2004
James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; light, clean fruit and just a hint of oak on the bouquet are followed by a clean, fresh, light palate; well made but lacking intensity and weight; very probably from young vines.
