Millbrook Barking Owl Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Winemaker's Notes

The 2014 season was once again very good for white grape varieties with warm temperatures and no summer rain. The overall growing season was early and warm producing completely disease-free fruit of optimal ripeness.

This wine is 100% sourced from ultra-premium vineyards in the Margaret River region of Western Australia.

Appearance: Very pale straw with lime green hues.

Nose: A classic Western Australian blend that exhibits passionfruit, fresh citrus and snow pea aromas.

Palate: Dry with a crisp, fresh and wonderfully lingering backbone of flavour. Passionfruit, citrus and snow pea are interwoven with a very small component of barrel-fermented Semillon which contributes subtle, spicy oak flavours to the wine.

Cellaring: Drink and enjoy now.

Variety: Sauvignon Blanc 80% Semillon 20%

Alcohol: 12.5%

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2014 Vintage) says
An 80/20% blend. The bouquet is fresh, but doesn’t prepare you for the drive of the palate, which snatches the full range of fl avours from cut grass to snow pea and passionfruit. Its track record comes as no surprise: a gold medal at the Adelaide Wine Show ’14 and silvers from Perth and Qantas Wine Show of WA. 12.5% alc.
